Marrying My Best Friend

I truly married by best friend. Andy & I became best friends back in High School -- I remember him stopping by every day when I worked @ Doug's Video in Verona after his shift as a custiodin @ VES. He'd stop in to check on me & get a movie or make plans for that evening to hang out.

Back then if you asked either of us if we'd ever date you would get a resounding NO! We were best friends and we just did not think of each other that way. Yes we probably looked like a couple: going out to dinner, Klines ice cream, watching movies together and talking on the phone foreverrrr, but he was just my best friend...

Thankfully God had something more in store for us that we just couldn't see back then...

Finnallllyyyyy one of me without that huge, goofy grin!
So happy!! :)

After our wedding ceremony we went downtown Staunton to take some photos. I really wanted a picture with us and a police car -- but Andy didn't think it was the best idea... haha.
Here are some photos from downtown...

Andy's got an Elvis smile going on here....
So serious....
Love this picture!

And I'll leave you with a sneak peek of the reception....

More Wedding Recaps Coming Soon...

The wedding recaps are still coming (I know you were worried right? Checking the blog every hour in hopes to see more photos and my ridiculously goofy wedding day smile?....kidding, kidding!).

But for today, I just thought this photo would be enough....

Thanks to Miscellaneous Media Photography for the awesome photos!

Quick Life Catch Up

How in the world can I do a quick life catch up when I just got married?! Okay so a quick "catch up" is truly impossible. But since I am still in the midst of getting ready for our reception (tomorrow evening) - I'll talk this time to do a quick update. Then hopefully get back on a better blogging schedule!

First, this creature of habit went back to my blackberry... I know, I know! I loved the features of the droid but in the end it was the battery life that had me returning it one week after getting it. If they could fix that feature - I'd be sold!

Second (but most importantly) - we had the most beautiful, amazing, perfect wedding ceremony.

I cannot think of how it would have been better.

The day was absolutely beautiful - beyond perfect weather (Thanks Angela!). At the ceremony I seriously could not stop smiling. Proof in the pictures of me looking like a dork because I'm smiling ear to ear and you can see all of my top teeth and my bottom teeth (I'm not kidding). My favorite photos are the ones taken from behind me where you see Andy and not my ridiculously looking smile - although it's proof of how truly happy I was to be standing there marrying my best friend.

Deciding to have a private ceremony was a hard decision, but it did turn out wonderfully. Although I am sorry for our many, many friends and family who did not get to see us saw our vows, it really was a beautiful, intimate setting and we loved every moment. Even Andy said that he was sad it was over! I replied with aren't you glad we have a whole wedding reception next weekend? It is very cool that we now get to celebrate with all of our friends and family.

Make sure you check out my Facebook wall if you want to read some of my favorite memories from the day. And I promise to give a more (or multiple more) full updates from our wedding festivities. Like getting rained poured on at the rehearsal, kayakers down the river during the ceremony & the spider that got stuck in my dress!

For now, I will leave you with a photo from the ceremony that no one else has seen yet...
