Furniture Shopping & Money Talks

How do the two previously mentioned things fit into my weekend? Well, Saturday Andy and I decided to do some furniture shopping. We know we can fill our house with hand-me-downs from our wonderful parents & family - which we will be doing a lot of - but we wanted to see how much some of the things we want to buy (at least eventually buy) will cost, so we decided to go shop at about 10 different furniture stores (or at least that's what it felt like!). BUT before we could do that we needed to go buy something we had price shopped/compared/researched last weekend... a GRILL!

We decided to go ahead and buy a grill because we're moving in a couple weeks and we love to grill out and really want to utilize our deck in the evenings. So off to Lowe's for the longest process ever considering we knew what we wanted... the problem? It didn't fit in the 4-runner! And after many different attempts we finally gave up. Thankfully my sister and her husband were in H'burg with his truck we loaded it up and they dropped it off for us (THANK GOODNESS!).

Then we were off to furniture shop until we dropped (seriously). We had so much fun (even tho I accidentally left my cell phone at one of the furniture shops). We also picked out some great options for the house and got a better idea of prices and were able to compare prices.

Then that night we sat down and discussed the big issue: MONEY. We've been told by so many people money will be the source of many fights and can be a big issue in marriage. We were even told that some of our pre-marriage counseling would focus on money, how we handle it, etc. So it was nice to sit down and have a good talk about how we're handling money when we move into the new house, what we want to spend money on, what we want to save, etc. And even though we still haven't figured out how we'll handle "our" money once we are married, we have thankfully worked out a system for now! :) Now if I could just be this happy with every money talk we have for the rest of our lives... haha, here's to hoping!
