Running through it.

I LOVE the girls I run with on the weekends. I cannot say this enough. We are all at different stages in life (mom with young kids, woman no kids, mom with grandkids and me!) and it works great. I love hearing each of their stories when we run and having their encouragement (and expertise).

This morning's run had all odds against me. I came home early from work yesterday because I was sick, took a nap and then couldn't fall asleep until after 1 am this morning. Then I tossed and turned all night morning with horrible back pain until 6am when my alarm went off to get up to run. Not a good night, especially when I wanted to do my longest run ever (10 miles) this morning. That did not happen.

Thankfully due to my awesome running buddies, I did get a good 7 miler in. I got there 20 mins early and did a short warm up lap (1.4 miles) before they got there. I was hoping it would loosen up my back. I stretched some after that lap and it seemed to help. Once we started I felt better, but I honestly would have stopped early if it weren't for the girls. So thankful for the girls because they kept me going. I'm sad I didn't push on for 3 more miles but I knew I shouldn't push my back.

Tomorrow's plan: a lonesome solo run (Sunday morning running buddy is out of town) and a hike with friends!
