Last Monday Andy & I both had Lasik Eye Surgery (actually a different form, called Epi-Lasik). And the last 7 days have been a crazy mess of blurry vision and endless eye appointments. Andy has been to the eye doctor 8 times out of 9 days. Wow! Hopefully (we're praying) Andy is on the road to recovery. No 20/20 vision yet (due to the type of Lasik we had done taking longer to heal) - but I'm hoping for no more contacts & glasses. It's weird to go to bed and not have to take my contacts out first!
I think pictures are the best way to tell a story - so let me recap the last few weeks, with photos!
Andy gets a "Cop" Haircut.
Let me explain. Andy & I became best friends in High School, and he always had short hair. His grandfather actually cut his hair for most of his life, so he had the same style forever. 6 or so months before we started dating Andy grew his goatee/beard thing (previously he was clean shaven) and then he just stopped getting a haircut. The lack of haircut gave him the most gorgeous, long, shaggy hair. Andy kept it that way for a long, long time (although I'm pretty sure it drove a lot of his family nuts). But when police interviews began to roll around he started getting shorter and shorter. With the pending job with Staunton PD (fingers crossed) we decided it was time to say goodbye to all that hair. Andy's stylist chopped it all off, after (much to Andy's embarrassment) I gave her 5 photos of celebrities styles we ---errr I--- liked. I didn't know guys didn't do this! haha... It turned out GREAT! And Andy's short hair is just as handsome as his shaggy hair. Problem is - he already needs a trim, so he says I need to learn how to do it.... YIKES!
New Sink! (Ignore Dirty Dishes)
Before me moved in we knew we needed a new sink (the old sink had a crack or two). We bought the sink days after moving in but had been using 2 buckets to catch the water as we tried to figure out who was going to install it. In came a good friend of my Stepdad's who came to our rescue (at a very great price!). While we were partially blind from Lasik, they came and installed our new sink. I'm obsessed! I actually WANT to wash dishes (I wonder how long that will last!). It has this awesome head on the faucet that de-taches and works as a sprayer. LOVE IT! (Next up - new dishwasher!).
Wonderful Dinners & Fun at our New House!
We have had so much fun at our new house! Above is a recent night of grilling & relaxing on the deck. We have had people over, made s'mores, drank great wine & beer, danced on our deck at sunset and all kinds of other ridiculous fun. The dogs absolutely LOVE their new yard and we are just loving our new home!
And to end with a picture of our kids (with the cute 4th of July hankies my mom bought them)...
Until next time (which will hopefully be soon).... xoxo
